Alloy 59 (W.Nr.2.4605, NiCr23Mo16Al) is a high nickel alloy product invented by VDM in Germany, which used to be also called Nicrofer 5923 hMo and is now generally referred to as VDM 59 alloy or 59 alloy. Due to its very low carbon and silicon content, VDM 59 alloy has no tendency to disperse grain boundaries and is easy to hot form or weld. As a result, the alloy can be used in many oxidising and reducing chemical media. In addition, VDM 59 alloy is more resistant to chloride attack due to its high nickel, chromium and molybdenum content. It has excellent resistance to inorganic acids such as nitric, phosphoric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acids, and especially to a mixture of sulphuric and hydrochloric acids, and has excellent resistance to corrosion by a variety of inorganic acid mixtures.
Application:
Scrubbers, heat exchangers, flaps, ventilators and agitators for flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) in ships and thermal power plants, plant and waste combustion industries, SO2 washers for marine diesel engines, seawater and concentrated brine components, equipment and components for geothermal energy and acid gas applications, acetic acid and acetic anhydride reactors, hydrofluoric acid reactors, sulphuric acid coolers
Matching Welding Consumables:
AWS A5.14 ERNiCrMo-13 wire, AWS A5.11 ENiCrMo-13 electrode for alloy 59
Supply Style:
Plate, strip, bar, wire, forging, light bar, weld, flange, etc., can be processed according to drawings
